Job Retention Scheme Extended

With the second national lockdown, the government extended the furlough scheme. Businesses need to be aware that they did make some notable changes:

  • Employers will need to cover National Insurance and pension deductions, but they will not have to make any salary contribution to employees on furlough.
  • From 1st Dec furlough claims cannot be used in cases of contractual or statutory notice periods during redundancy
